I modifed it to knit in the round and used i-cord instead of the garter straps. I used size 5 needles and Rowan Handknit Cotton DK. It was fantastically boring, and I only finished it through sheer stubborness. I do think it's damn cute though.

What is crazy boring? At least it is a fast knit, looks like a great 'reading' knit. Did you knit this in the round?
Yep, in the round. You absolutely need some sort of entertainment while knitting this. I like the finished product so much, I feel compelled to make another, but I don't know if I can take the boredom. Maybe next summer.
doh! I see that 'knit in the round' comment. Sometimes, I really don't know where my head is.
I found it good for knitting at baseball games. Anything that requires thinking, I'd mess up on because I got so engrossed in the game. You could probably knit this in your sleep. LOL
I think it turned out great and looks so cute on her. If I get around to making it I will make sure I have a book handy.
